From 24 July to 1 August 2027, Lignano Sabbiadoro will host the EYOF – European Youth Olympic Festival, one of the most important multi-sport events dedicated to young European athletes.

For the occasion, young athletes from 48 European countries will compete in 14 sports, including athletics, swimming, triathlon, volleyball, handball, BMX cycling, artistic gymnastics, golf, judo, fencing, skateboarding, sprint canoeing, shooting, clay pigeon shooting and 3x3 basketball.

The competitions will not take place exclusively in Lignano Sabbiadoro, but also in other towns and cities across Friuli: Latisana, Rivignano, San Vito al Tagliamento, Porpetto, San Giorgio di Nogaro and Trieste.

The 2027 edition will be a special event for Lignano: it will be the second time the resort has hosted the Summer EYOF, following the 2005 edition. This is another important recognition for Lignano Sabbiadoro, a city of sport and a venue for major international sporting events thanks to the quality of its facilities and its long-standing experience in organising international competitions.

The EYOF promotes the values of sport, friendship and fair play, offering young athletes an important opportunity to meet, compete and socialise.
